Fire extinguisher instruction is a requirement by law as stated in the Building
Fire Safety Regulation 1991 section 11, 12 & 13 (State Government Legislation).
This legislation maintains that all employees must have annual instruction in the
method of operation of fire fighting equipment and any new employees working in
the building must be instructed within 30 days of commencing employment.

During instruction all employees will be educated in:
The safe methods of using a fire extinguisher. The use of correct extinguishers for the various types of fires. What to do in the event of fire and if an evacuation is required. Fire prevention basics. Home & workplace safety. Fire safety check lists. Motor vehicle considerations. Personal safety. Building alarms & evacuation procedures. Fire extinguisher identification and operation.
Practice
All participants will experience a demonstration on the correct
methods of using a fire extinguisher. This is based on the method of
extinguishing called P.A.S.S Pull.Aim.Squeeze.Sweep. Participants will also be able to expel a fire extinguisher.

Requirements on the day
Our fire instruction is environmentally friendly and easily performed at
your work premises. Participants are to wear closed footwear. Participants are to wear cotton or woollen clothing. Participants need to have their hair tied back. A cleared area in car park or vacant block must be available to safely
conduct the training. Access to a fire hose reel.
Upon completion all participants will be issued with a certificate; your company
will also receive a Staff Training Record. For compliance purposes this training
record can be presented to your local authority and or insurance company upon
their request.
