As stated in the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 it is a requirement by law that all workplaces are fitted with adequate fire fighting equipment.

Upkeep of this fire fighting equipment is the responsibility of the Owners, Leasers, Agents and/or Managers of the premises and must be carried out on a six (6) monthly basis. Should you choose to use our company we will ensure that your equipment is maintained to the specified requirements.

Upon servicing your equipment we will supply you with maintenance records that must be kept on the premises and can be used when requested by local authorities and/or insurance companies.

Olympic Fire Services ensures that all installations and maintenance adheres to all Australian Standards.

Compliance Checklist
Every 6 months you must have the following inspected by a certified technician: These items have been checked by a certified technician:
All portable fire extinguishers.
All fire blankets.
All fire hydrants.
All fire hose reels.
All exit lighting.
All smoke detectors.
In addition you must have the following carried out by a certified technician: These items have been checked by a certified technician:
Annual fire instruction conducted with all of your staff.
Your 12 monthly booster to appliance test on your fire hydrants.
Your 5 yearly hydrostatic test on your fire hydrant system.
Your fire panels checked monthly and then an annual inspection.
An exit plan in place.

Also make sure that you are equipped with adequate signage and that there are no obstructions to equipment required in the event of a fire and or an emergency. If you use our services our technicians assess this when they conduct their mandatory 6 monthly equipment checks.
